During my time on the Talent Development Design team at Universal Orlando Resort, I designed engaging, on-brand learning experiences that supported both new hire onboarding and ongoing team member development. From interactive eLearning modules to print-ready pocket guides, my work focused on enhancing clarity, confidence, and consistency across departments.

My Experience as a Content Designer at Universal Orlando Resort

Since most of my work at Universal Orlando Resort is confidential, I can’t overshare the projects I’ve worked on. However, during my time as a Content Designer on the Talent Development Design Team, I collaborated with cross-functional teams to develop learning and development projects that supported Team Members across the company.

✏️ Here’s an idea on what we accomplished together as a team

🫶 New Hire Onboarding

Working closely with stakeholders and SMEs, our team revamped the Day One orientation experience, transitioning it back to an in-person format that was more engaging and aligned with company goals. Branded, learner-centered materials were designed to feel polished and professional while remaining easy to digest. The updated experience received positive feedback from Team Members and leadership, who praised its fresh design and engaging format.

✍️ eLearning Development

Collaborating with Talent Development Trainers and SMEs, our team created interactive eLearning modules to introduce employees to new tools, processes, and responsibilities, ensuring that all content remained on-brand and accessible. The focus was on user-friendly, visually consistent designs that made learning intuitive and effective for a diverse range of Team Members.

📋 Operational Resources

Our team developed quick-reference Food & Beverage guides and training materials to help Team Members navigate major events like Mardi Gras and Halloween Horror Nights. Each resource was carefully crafted to match the event’s branding and theme, ensuring a seamless and immersive learning experience.

👥 Team Enablement & Specialized Training

Supporting specialized teams, we helped build learning experiences for unique training initiatives, such as the Minions Café onboarding project, ensuring that all design elements adhered to Illumination’s brand guidelines. Across all projects, collaboration with various teams ensured brand consistency and alignment with parks, resorts, and Universal’s external partners.

While the work itself can’t be shared publicly, the impact of these training initiatives was evident in the enhanced learning experiences and engagement of Team Members. Our team took pride in developing high-quality, visually engaging training solutions that supported Universal’s mission and supported new and current Team Members.
